played South Liberties in the All County League, team lined out William Tobin, Andrew Hickey, Johnathan Dervan, Joe Keyes, Brian Mackey, John O Connor, Diarmuid Byrnes, Evan Walsh, Pat Tobin, Timmy O Brien, Darren Dunlea, Pat Walsh, Eoghan Tuoghy, Declan Kett and David Quigley, Subs used Michael Dee and John Fitzgibbon. This fixture had been postponed on a number of occasions and was eventually played on Sunday night in Knockea, the pitch was not at it’s best on the night and both teams played out a tough physical battle that South Liberties won.
Half time had the score at 9 pts to 7 pts in favour of Liberties who had played against the wind and up the hill. Murroe Boher came out a lot more positive in the second half but it was Liberties who scored first, Darren Dunlea registered a pointed free and backed this up with the next 2 scores, before a 21 yard free was blasted to the South Liberties net by Willaim Tobin, this left the minimum between the teams, but a short puck out which was picked off by Liberties number 13 put 2 between the teams.
With 5 minutes to go Murroe Boher had another close in free which at the time we took the point but this was to be our last chance on goal before South Liberties rattled off 3 successive points to run out winners on a scoreline of 15 points to 1-10. We face Ahane in the next fixture of the all county league before a crunch match vs Knockainey in the championship.
