Senior Hurling Championship

The County Championship got underway last Sunday at a wet and windy Caherconlish where our opponents were Garryspillane. On a very windy afternoon where either side dominated with the wind it was no surprise the game ended in a draw Murroe Boher 0-18 Garryspillane 2-12.
Over the last few seasons games have been tight between these two and both were up for the battle with April being a crucial month for both.
Our lads played with the wind first and started to pick off points with Seanie Tobin and Jack Casey to the fore but Garryspillane were dogged and picked off scores of their own before striking for a goal from Donie Ryan against the run of play to leave a point between them five min from the break but late scores from Seanie Tobin, Jack Casey and Finn Hourigan restored a badly needed four point advantage facing into the breeze in the second half Murroe Boher 0-11 Garryspillane 1-4
The bouncers now with wind at their back powered into the game with a quick goal but that really spurred our lads with points from Finn Hourigan, Aaron Kennedy Seanie Tobin and Jack Casey we were well placed for the win as our opponents were down to 14. Entering the final stages and a point down we managed to get a free which was duly slotted by Seanie to gain a deserved draw. On a day where both could have won or lost a point made both teams happy. Next up Knockainey back in Caherconlish at 1pm this Easter Sunday
