After a titanic battle on Sunday it was back to the Gaelic Grounds for the replay of the Premier Intermediate Championship on Wednesday night under lights. The issue of fatigue was always going to be an issue for both ourselves and Garryspillane after a short turnaround but our lads took to the field in great shape. The evidence of that was soon seen on the scoreboard with Pat Tobin a man inspired as everything he touched flew over the bar along with a tremendous sideline from Dylan Sheehan our boys took a 0-12 to 0-8 advantage into the break. The second half like the drawn game started well for the bouncers when they tagged on a few points but crucially Seanie Tobin banged in a great goal to give some breathing space and points from Dylan Sheehan and Mattie Hanley along with some body on the line defending gave us enough of a lead to make a late Donie Ryan goal irrelevant to the result. Our lads were not to be denied and when the final whistle went the large crowd from the parish celebrated wildly with the players and management. The return to Senior was the aim and that goal was achieved in style, well done to all involved.
