Premier Intermediate Championship

The third round of the Premier Intermediate Championship was played recently in Hospital where our boys took on Blackrock. Our lads were looking to extend their unbeaten run and they duly did on a score of Murroe Boher 2-12  Blackrock 1-11

The game started off at a frenetic pace with hard hits going in from both sides which eventually led to a red for county star Seamus Hickey after a coming together off the ball. Blackrock did not kick on from their one man advantage and it was our lads that upped their intensity resulting in a lot of frees being won that were converted by Seanie Tobin. The half back line were dominating and supplying good ball inside where Mikey Ryan banged home a goal and a point before the break to leave it at half time Murroe Boher 1-9 Blackrock 0-5.

Cillian Byrnes came on for the injured Dylan Ryan at the break and turned in a solid performance during the second half ably assisted Seanie Tobin who took some big hits from the opposition. The majority of the second half was comfortable for the lads but Blackrock did rally towards the end to pull it back to three in injury time before Mikey Ryan pointed to seal the win. Overall a solid performance considering playing the majority of the game with fourteen men.
