U15 Hurling

U15 Hurling
On Thursday last our U15 Hurlers took on a much fancied Mungret St Pauls in Mungret and were very unlucky to come out on the wrong side of a five point defeat 4-7 to 3-5 . We were missing one or two on the night but you wouldn’t know it given the display by our lads especially when Mungret built up a lead in the second half only to be pegged back to a point in the dying minutes. The luck deserted the lads on the night as a wicked deflected goal killed off our hopes of victory and that turned out to be the last play of the night as the referee blew full time on the puck out. The heart and determination shown on the night was the most encouraging thing as they battled for everything and with a bit of luck the result may have been different . The final group game is due to be played this Thursday night in Ahane .It’s hard to single out any players as they all performed well but special mention must go to David Hickey, Michael Dunlea at Full Forward who ran all night, Michael Hourigan and Sean O Brien. Team : Cathal Barry, Brian Quigley, Eoin Burke, Mark Nicholas, Sean O Brien, Jack Nicholas, Michael Ryan, Johnny Kelly , Sean Quigley (1-0), Colin Hackett, David Hickey (1-4) , Michael Hourigan (0-1), Tyrone Nolan, Michael Dunlea (1-0), Evan Hannon, Mark Cusack, Jack Oliver
