Limerick GAA Club are hosting a “Have a Go” event on Thursday , June 4th at the Delta Sports Dome, Delta Business Park, at 7.30 pm
“Have a Go Day” in is an opportunity for young people to sample sports that they have not played before. On the night there will be an opportunity to play Rounders, Hurling, Camogie and of course Gaelic football for girls and boys.
The GAA have been promoting the “Have A Go Day “ initiative with a view to attracting more people to the Association and also providing the opportunity for young people to sample new sports that they may not have had the opportunity to play on a regular basis.
On the night we will have coaches & county players from Hurling, Camogie, Gaelic Football, Ladies Football Rounders & Handball in attendance to teach the new players the very basics of the relevant games and give them an opportunity to play on the night.
There will also be a Wheelchair Hurling Exhibition Game with the Treaty Warriors team that represented Munster in the 2014 National Tournament and going on to win the event in fine style.
This initiative which is being organised the Limerick GAAs Inclusion & Integration Committee, chaired by Gerry McNamara, is aimed at giving more people the opportunity to be part of a club and to give new people the opportunity to sample the menu of GAA activities.
By providing an opportunity like this, you are giving an invitation to new people to come along and to participate in the various activities. It will provide the young people of the community with the opportunity to participate in a wider range of sporting activities.
