After heavy rain on Saturday morning Killmallock was dry and bright and initially no wind, Murroe Boher won the toss and elected to play away from the clubhouse goals. Newcastlewest looked a lot more physical side to Murroe Boher, but it was Aaron Kennedy who opened the scoring after 90 seconds with a point from play, Killian Byrnes shot over our next point on 2 minutes and a wide from Karl Cusack before No 15 from Newcastlewest pointed a free from their first attack into our half.
Aaron Kennedy shot over the next point on 6 minutes and Newcastlewest struck back with a wide and another pointed free from number 15. Murroe Boher dominance resulted in 2 wides one from a free before an electric 3 minutes of play that had Dylan Sheehan point from play and Kevin Clohessey point from a free, the resulting puck out fell to Kevin who broke the ball to himself and ran directly at the centre of Newcastlewest defence, Killian Byrnes peeled off his man to create the space for Kevin and with the Centre Back from Newcastlewest caught between a decision on which player to take, Kevin threw a dummy, slipped the centre back and scored one of the points of the game. The next score fell to Killian Byrnes who at 14 years of age is showing maturity beyond his years and drove over a point from 40 yards.
Newcastlewest attacked hard and drove a wide before no 12 scored a point from play, the next score was a point from Killian Byrnes who was creating all kinds of trouble for his marker.

The second half started well for Murroe Boher, with Kevin Clohessey landing a monster free from half way under the stand, this was repeated on 5 minutes from the same spot where again Kevin showed great mental strength to put Murroe Boher in a 5 point lead.
Newcastlewest struck a wide from a free before Kevin Clohessey hit a free to maintain our lead .
Newcastlewest sensing that the game was going away from them saw their number 8 drop a free into the square that was drifting wide but at the last second was diverted into the back of The Murroe Boher net by No 15, this lifted their spirits, but again it was Kevin Clohessey that point frees on the 13 min and 16 minute to keep a lead of 4 points.
