This year the Poc Fada is following a different format in that the county & provincial competitions are to replicate in some format the All-lreland competition that is held in the CooleyMountains every August.
The site in Glenduff has been chosen and we would like to thank Liam Lenihan, Conservation ranger, Kileedy GAA club and the local farming community for their assistance.
Participants are also asked to wear their club jersey as photo’s will be taken of all participants and posted on the websites. Participants are asked as well to bring an assistant with them to mark the scores. Assistants will be assigned to a different participant than the one they came with.
People travelling to support the long puck are advised that the terrain is Hilly and underfoot conditions may be uneven at times. They are advised to bring suitable footwear and in the event of the weather changing, suitable clothing. Supporters may travel the course at a safe distance to the competitors to shout them on. The overall length of the course is 2.5Km approx. This is a very scenic area of Limerick along the Cork Border with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.
All participants must register with me by next Thursday Next June 27th.
